A Playful Valentine Scene Card Using the Valentine Kisses Bundle

Bold opinion right out of the gate: Valentine cards with little scenes always win. There’s something about a card that tells a tiny story that makes people pause before they even read the sentiment and this one definitely has that pause factor. We set out to use the Valentine Kisses Bundle again (because obviously), but instead of focusing on a flat front, we leaned into creating a cozy, storybook-style moment.
This card feels cheerful, a little whimsical, and very “happy mail approved.” It’s the kind of Valentine you could send to a partner, a kid, a friend, or honestly anyone who appreciates cute artwork and thoughtful design. And yes… the bears are once again stealing the show.
Project Details & Inspiration
This card is built around that arched background panel (created with the Everyday Arches Dies), which immediately gives the design a sense of structure and height. The arch frames the scene perfectly, almost like you’re peeking into a little Valentine window. We kept the background soft and speckled by using the Brights Designer Series Paper so it feels textured and layered without distracting from the images in front.
The bottom portion of the card grounds everything with a grassy panel (again using the Brights Designer Series paper), giving our bears somewhere to stand and helping separate the scene visually. That contrast between the sky and the ground makes the focal images pop and keeps the card from feeling flat. We love using subtle background details like this because they add depth without turning the design into a collage situation.
The Valentine Kisses bears are the heart of this card both literally and figuratively. One bear stands proudly outside the booth, while the other peeks through the window, creating a sweet interaction that feels intentional and story-driven. Placing the booth slightly off-center keeps the layout interesting and lets the standing bear shine without overcrowding the scene.
At the top, the sentiment floats just above the arch, giving the design some breathing room. A few small rhinestones scattered around the background add just enough shine to catch the light and guide the eye upward. It’s balanced, playful, and polished all at the same time.
Practical tip: When creating scene cards, think in layers from back to front. Background first, grounding elements second, focal images last. That order helps everything feel connected instead of stacked.
