Emboss-Resist Spider Web Halloween Card with the Web of Fun Bundle

Purple, pink, and green on Halloween? Absolutely! We heat embossed the spider web in white, then brushed Gorgeous Grape, Strawberry Slush, and Granny Apple Green over the top. The embossed lines resist the ink, so the web shines right through the color. A die-cut black web in the corner and a simple "Halloween" label keep it festive without a single pumpkin in sight!

Project Details & Inspiration

Emboss-Resist Spider Web Halloween Card with the Web of Fun Bundle

The card base is Gorgeous Grape Cardstock. On a Basic White panel, we stamped the spider web image in VersaMark, covered it with white Basics Wow! Embossing Powder, and heated it until shiny. Then, with Blending Brushes and small, gentle circles, we built up Gorgeous Grape, Strawberry Slush, and Granny Apple Green ink. Start light and add color in layers; the embossed web resists the ink and pops right through.

A black spider web die cut with the Web of Fun Dies goes in the top left corner, trimmed flush with the panel edges. The colored panel is matted on Basic Black Cardstock and centered on the card base for an even purple border. "Halloween" is stamped in black on Basic White, die cut, and added to the center on Dimensionals, slightly overlapping the web. A Basic White panel goes inside, and three black dots from the Adhesive-Backed Bats, Ghosts & Dots balance out the right side.
