Inked-Die Embossed Bow with the Elegantly Wrapped Bundle

Here's a question we get all the time: how do you get color onto a die-cut bow without stamping it first? You ink the die itself! A light brush of Pool Party ink across the Elegantly Wrapped Dies, one pass through the machine to cut, and a second pass to emboss gives this bow a soft, almost fabric-like look. Set over a panel of All Wrapped Up Specialty Designer Series Paper with a little twine-tied tag, it's simple enough to make a whole stack of and pretty enough that nobody will believe how fast it came together.

Project Details & Inspiration

We started with a Basic White Cardstock card base and layered All Wrapped Up Specialty Designer Series Paper onto a Basic White mat, then onto a Pool Party Cardstock mat for a double border. For the bow, we lightly brushed Pool Party ink onto the Elegantly Wrapped Dies with a blending brush and cut the pieces from Pool Party Cardstock. Then, with the pieces still in the dies, we flipped them over and ran them back through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Impressions Mat to emboss. Go easy on the ink: a little goes a long way, and too much leaves the bow blotchy.
The bow is built in the top left corner with Mini Glue Dots, starting with the tails, then the loops, and finishing with the knot so it reads as one tied bow. The sentiment was stamped in Pool Party ink and die cut into a tag, topped with a small Pool Party circle, and threaded with white baker's twine before being tucked over the bow tail. A matching layered panel went inside, and three Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Sequins finished the front.
