Peek-Through Valentine Fun Fold with the Valentine Kisses Bundle

Valentine cards don’t have to be fussy to feel special. Sometimes all you need is a bold pop of Real Red, a clean layout that shows off your focal point, and one little detail that makes people stare at the card an extra two seconds (the good kind of stare… not the “what did you do?” kind lol).
This one is all about that vertical panel front and center. It’s the star of the show, it does the most and it gives the whole card a modern, graphic look without turning the design into a collage situation. Add the sweet bear from the Valentine Kisses Bundle, sprinkle in some tiny hearts, and you’ve got a Valentine that’s playful, crisp, and totally gift-worthy.
And now for the part we’re extra excited about: that textured red background? That’s not designer paper. That’s a technique.

Project Details & Inspiration
This card is built around that tall vertical panel on the front. The heart-pattern background sets the Valentine theme immediately, and the bear from the Valentine Kisses Bundle becomes the obvious focal point without needing a bunch of extra layers. We finished the panel with that stitched heart die cut from the Valentine Kisses Dies and kept the sentiment area clean with “bear hugs & kisses” in Poppy Parade so your eye knows exactly where to go.
For the vertical panel, we used a fun technique that adds texture without taking over the whole card: emboss the cardstock with the Hearts of Love 3D Embossing Folder, then roll a brayer with Poppy Parade ink over the raised parts. It highlights the texture in a way that looks artsy and intentional, and it pairs perfectly with bold Valentine elements like hearts and strong red layers. The key is a light touch, let the brayer skim the high points so the color stays on the embossed pattern instead of flooding the background.
If you want to switch this design up, you can swap the embossing folder behind the bear or change the designer series paper on the panels and the whole card will look brand new… while that vertical panel keeps everything looking crisp and put-together.
