Peek-Through Window Flower Card with the Poetic Petals Bundle

Peek-Through Window Flower Card with the Poetic Petals Bundle

Here's a placement trick worth stealing: cut the window first, then use it as a stencil. We die cut a square opening in the Brushed with Beauty Designer Series Paper, laid it over a Calypso Coral panel, and glued the Very Vanilla flowers down right through the window so they landed perfectly centered. Pop the paper back on with Dimensionals and the blooms sit inside a little shadowed frame. A gingham bow and Antique Pearls tinted with a Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blend make the coral and green feel like they were always meant to go together!

Project Details & Inspiration

Peek-Through Window Flower Card with the Poetic Petals Bundle

The base is a Very Vanilla Cardstock card. We used the square die from the Poetic Petals Dies to cut a window toward the top of the Brushed with Beauty Designer Series Paper, then die cut the flowers from Very Vanilla Cardstock. With the paper laid loosely over the larger Calypso Coral panel, the window shows exactly where the flowers should go. A light touch of glue on the stems and petals keeps the die cuts from tearing. The paper panel goes back on with Stampin’ Dimensionals placed away from the window edges, and the coral layer is adhered to the left side of the card.

The sentiment is stamped in Mossy Meadow ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock and matted on Calypso Coral. It sits near the bottom of the card, overlapping the paper panel and extending past the coral layer, with glue on the part over the paper and Dimensionals on the part over the card base so it stays level. A Mossy Meadow & Very Vanilla Gingham Ribbon bow goes on the left end. For the pearls, color Antique Pearls with the dark Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blend and let them dry completely before adding one to each flower and the rest near the sentiment.
