Purple Aurora Z-Fold Card made with Light & Wonder Bundle

Purple aurora skies and silhouetted pine trees are a combo we’ll never get tired of. For this Z-fold card, we pulled out the Light & Wonder Bundle and the Lights of Aurora Designer Series Paper and leaned into rich color, clean layers, and a simple fun fold that looks impressive without taking all afternoon.
This card is all about that winter night sky. The Lights of Aurora DSP does the dramatic swirls of color, and the Light & Wonder dies add that sharp black treeline that instantly grounds everything. When you open the card, the front greeting “Wishing you a year of” carries over into the inside sentiment, “Wonder,” which makes this design perfect for New Year, winter birthdays, or just sending a little encouragement during the colder months.
We stuck with a Gorgeous Grape card base and Highland Heather layers so the paper really stands out, then kept the stamping minimal. If you love fun folds but don’t want to fuss with tons of pieces, this one is a really easy win and a great way to show off those stunning sheets from the Lights of Aurora Designer Series Paper pack.
Project Details & Inspiration
The base of this project is a standard A2 card turned into a Z-fold with two simple score lines. Gorgeous Grape gives you that deep, rich frame, while Highland Heather softens everything and helps the Lights of Aurora Designer Series Paper really stand out.
The large back panel is where the paper gets to shine. We used one of the bolder aurora patterns from the Lights of Aurora pack for that big inside layer, then repeated the same pattern on the skinny front strip for a continuous swish of color across the card. Keeping both pieces from the same sheet helps the design stay cohesive without any extra effort.
For the focal point, we used the Light & Wonder Bundle. The sentiment “Wishing you a year of” is stamped on Highland Heather and layered on a Gorgeous Grape square. The detailed treeline is die-cut from Basic Black, giving you strong contrast against the softer purple background. A few iridescent sequins scattered around the sentiment echo the look of stars in the sky and tie back to the shimmer in the Lights of Aurora paper.
Inside, we kept things clean. A Highland Heather mat and Basic White panel give you plenty of room to write, and the “Wonder” sentiment finishes off the phrase from the front. The inside still shows that large aurora panel behind it when the card is standing open, so you get lots of color without needing extra stamping.
