T-Shaped Fun Fold Card with Friendly Foliage & Brushed with Beauty DSP

We had the Brushed with Beauty Designer Series Paper out on the table, and it was doing that thing where it’s so pretty you almost don’t want to cut it. Almost. Then we remembered: hoarding designer paper is not a personality trait we’re trying to keep. So we grabbed the Friendly Foliage Bundle, picked a bold coral base, and made a T-shaped card that shows off the paper and gives the recipient a little surprise when they open it.
This fold is one of our favorites for “thinking of you” cards because it looks different right away—before anyone even reads the sentiment. It’s still practical, still mailable, and it doesn’t require a full craft-room reboot to make it happen.
Project Details & Inspiration
We started with a large floral panel from Brushed with Beauty Designer Series Paper and framed it with Very Vanilla so the pattern feels intentional, not like we slapped paper on cardstock and called it a day. (We’ve all done it. No shame. But this version looks more polished lol.)
Next, we added the focal sentiment on a stitched banner. The banner is cut from Mossy Meadow Cardstock, and then we layered a smaller stitched Very Vanilla banner on top with the sentiment stamped in matching Mossy Meadow ink: “Thinking of you.” That one choice—matching the ink to the banner—does a lot of the visual work. It reads coordinated immediately, and you don’t need extra colors to make it look finished.
For texture, we tied a simple bow with Linen Thread on the left side of the banner. It adds softness without stealing attention from the sentiment. Then we finished with a couple of Pearls of Beauty dots near the greeting. Those little dots matter more than people think—they repeat the coral from the base, balance the banner, and give the front a tiny bit of shine.
Now for the “T” part: behind the center panel, the top and bottom sections peek out with a second DSP pattern (the neutral dash print). This is what makes the fold fun. It’s still clean, but the shape feels special, and it gives you more design space without cluttering the focal area.
Inside, we kept things simple with a large Very Vanilla panel for writing. This fold is cute, but it’s also functional—there’s plenty of room for the message, which makes it a solid choice for sympathy, encouragement, or a quick note to a friend who needs a pick-me-up.
