Some cards just radiate joy the moment they’re opened, and this one might be the happiest project on our craft table right now. The Creative Haven Bundle pairs perfectly with the hobby-inspired patterns in the Hobby Haven Designer Series Paper, and together they create a sweet, heartfelt card that celebrates the friends who make life lighter.
This tri-fold design gives you a whole extra surface to play with, which means we get to show off way more of the adorable paper: yarn, sewing machines, pincushions, safety pins, and little crafty bits everywhere. It feels playful and nostalgic, like a peek into a cozy craft room.
This card is cheerful without being loud, detailed without being fussy, and the sentiment? Absolutely the star.
Project Details & Inspiration
We built the base in Pretty Peacock Cardstock, which instantly makes the soft aqua and peach tones from the Hobby Haven Designer Series Paper pop. The tri-fold layout creates this beautiful accordion effect, so when the card opens up, you get that full, panoramic view of all the sewing illustrations. It sets such a fun backdrop and doesn’t require any extra work from you, the paper does everything.
The center panel carries the focal point. The sentiment, “Friends Like You Are Golden,” stamped in Pretty Peacock ink, has this warm, hand-lettered look that feels personal and thoughtful. We layered it over a dotted patterned panel from the DSP to keep the center bright, then added a strip of Gold Striped Ribbon tied into a soft bow. It adds just enough sparkle without taking over the design.
A small coordinating sentiment block at the bottom pulls in the gold again, tying the whole piece together. A few Drusy Adhesive-Backed Embellishments sprinkled around the center panel add tiny points of shine, keeping everything feeling festive and uplifting.
Opened up or closed, the card has that “made-with-love” charm that makes handmade cards so special.
